For Spanish online shops, autónomos and gestorías

Every invoice Verifactu-compliant before the 2027 deadline

Verifactu Kit adds the hash chain, QR code and real-time AEAT submission that Spain's Verifactu regulation requires, inside Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop or Stripe. It covers B2C simplified invoices (tickets) as well as full invoices.

  • Each billing record is SHA-256 chained to the previous one and submitted to the AEAT web service within seconds of the order being invoiced.
  • The QR code and 'VERI*FACTU' legend are printed on every PDF invoice and receipt your shop already sends.
  • Rejections from the AEAT are retried automatically and shown in a Spanish-language dashboard your gestoría can log into.

Why now

Spain's Verifactu deadline is fixed, and most shops aren't ready

From 2027, invoicing software used in Spain must generate a tamper-evident record for every invoice, chain it to the previous record with a hash, print a QR code on the document and, in Verifactu mode, send the record to the AEAT as it is created. Shop platforms, Stripe and the usual PDF invoice plugins don't do this.

The deadline has already moved twice, which is why so many sellers have put it off. But the new dates are in the official calendar: companies first, self-employed sellers six months later. Once they arrive, non-compliant software exposes both the seller and the software vendor to fines, invoice by invoice.

Replacing your shop's invoicing with an accounting suite is the expensive route. Most sellers only need the invoices their shop already generates to carry the right records and reach the tax agency. That is the only job Verifactu Kit does.

How it works

How it works

  1. 1

    Connect your shop or Stripe

Install the app from the Shopify App Store, the WordPress plugin directory or PrestaShop Addons, or add the Stripe App to your account. About 10 minutes; nothing changes in your checkout.

  2. 2

Upload your certificate and choose a mode

You or your gestoría upload the company's digital certificate and pick Verifactu mode (real-time submission) or non-Verifactu mode (local records). We verify the connection against the AEAT test environment first.

  3. 3

    Invoice as usual

When an order is invoiced or a Stripe invoice is finalised, we build the billing record, chain it, submit it, and stamp the QR code and legend onto the PDF the customer receives. Refunds and cancellations create the matching rectification or cancellation records.

  4. 4

    Hand your gestoría the ledger

Your gestoría gets a read-only login and a monthly export of all records and AEAT responses.

What it does

Features

Hash chain and AEAT submission

Every record carries a SHA-256 hash linked to the previous record and is sent to the AEAT's Verifactu web service with your certificate. If the AEAT is unavailable we queue and retry.

QR code and legend on your existing PDFs

We stamp the official QR code (with the AEAT verification URL) and the 'VERI*FACTU' text on the PDFs produced by your existing invoice plugin or by Stripe, so customers see the same layout as before.

B2C simplified invoices covered

Receipts to consumers (facturas simplificadas) are recorded and submitted just like full invoices, which is where most online shops have the highest volume.

Refunds, credit notes and corrections

Refunds create rectifying invoice records; cancelled orders create the required cancellation record. Edits to a submitted invoice are never silent: each one is a new, chained record.

Verifactu or non-Verifactu mode

Choose real-time submission to the AEAT or local record-keeping with records available on request. Most customers choose Verifactu mode, which carries fewer signing and event-log obligations.

Gestoría workspace

A gestoría manages many client shops from one login, sees rejections, downloads monthly ledgers (CSV and AEAT XML) and gets certificate-expiry alerts.

Spanish-language support and documents

Dashboard, emails and support are in Spanish, with English available. The software's compliance declaration (declaración responsable) is published and downloadable for your records.

Who it's for

Shopify, WooCommerce and PrestaShop shops based in Spain

Invoices are generated by the shop and you don't want an accounting suite. You get compliant records on the invoices you already send.

SaaS and subscription businesses billing through Stripe

Stripe produces your invoices and you have no other invoicing system. The Stripe App adds the records and QR codes without changing your billing flow.

Gestorías and accounting offices

Dozens of your clients run online shops and will all ask about Verifactu at once. You get one workspace, client-level exports and a partner rate.

Agencies that build and maintain shops

You need a module you can install, configure and leave running on client shops, with clear logs for when the client's accountant calls.

Compared with the alternatives

Free WordPress plugins
About 20 exist; most have fewer than 10 installs and no stated support. Fine for a test, but your business is liable for the records.
BeeL, Quaderno, B2Brouter
BeeL offers Verifactu with a Stripe plan at about €15 a month; Quaderno and B2Brouter sell paid Verifactu plugins. Credible options; compare how each handles simplified B2C receipts and your platform.
A full invoicing or accounting suite
Spanish accounting suites are adding Verifactu. If you want to move all invoicing out of your shop, that is a valid route; it costs more per month and means re-keying or syncing every order.
Doing it in-house
The AEAT publishes the specification. Building the SOAP client, hash chain, QR and error handling is weeks of developer time plus maintenance.
Getting started

Your first week

We onboard new accounts within 2 business days. Most shops submit test records to the AEAT sandbox on day one and real records within the week.

  1. Day 1: Install the app or module, upload your certificate, and submit a test record to the AEAT test environment with us on a call.
  2. Day 2–3: Switch to production; we watch the first 50 live records with you and fix any tax-rate mapping issue.
  3. Day 5: Invite your gestoría and send them the first ledger export.
  4. Day 7: Review the dashboard together and confirm refund and rectification flows match your return policy.

Security and data

  • Billing records and certificates are stored encrypted at rest on servers in the EU; your certificate's private key is encrypted with a key held separately from the database.
  • Only the AEAT web service receives your records; we don't share invoice data with third parties or use it for anything other than the service.
  • Records are kept for at least four years, exportable at any time, and deleted on written request after you leave; your own legal duty to keep copies stays with you.
  • A GDPR data processing agreement is included; we are the processor and you remain the controller of your customers' data.

Questions

Which businesses does Verifactu apply to?

Businesses and self-employed people in Spain who issue invoices using software, from 1 January 2027 for companies and 1 July 2027 for the self-employed. Businesses reporting under SII are generally outside the regulation, and the Basque Country and Navarra run their own systems. Verifactu Kit is software, not tax advice; confirm your case with your gestoría.

Does it cover receipts to consumers, not only invoices?

Yes. Simplified invoices (tickets) are billing records under the regulation and are chained and submitted the same way. For a B2C shop this is most of the volume.

What if the deadline is postponed a third time?

Possible; it has happened twice. The records you generate meanwhile are still valid, and a working, tested setup costs €9 a month. You can cancel at any time if the rules change.

Who is liable if something is wrong, you or me?

The taxpayer is responsible for issuing compliant invoices; the software maker must sign a compliance declaration for its product, and we publish ours. We log every record and AEAT response so both of us can show what was sent and when.

Can my gestoría manage this for me?

Yes. Invite them with a read-only or admin role. Many gestorías set up the certificate and monitor rejections themselves; the Gestoría plan is for offices doing this for several clients.

Is the service in Spanish?

Yes. The dashboard, customer emails, documentation and support are in Spanish. English is available for international teams running Spanish entities.

Will you support TicketBAI for the Basque Country?

It is on the roadmap but not available today. If your business is in the Basque Country, tell us when you request service and we'll contact you when it ships; don't buy on the expectation.
