For heads of international, market expansion and cross-border leads

See where your rivals already sell before you pick the next market

RivalSweeper reads each competitor's public storefront and records the countries it ships to, the payment methods it shows (card networks, wallets, buy now pay later), its currencies and its languages, with a dated history of every change. Your own footprint sits in the same view, so the market-entry deck starts from facts.

Why now

Market-entry decks are built on a competitor scan that is out of date by the board meeting

Before you open a market you need to know who already sells there and on what terms: do the rivals you lose to ship to Poland, price in zloty, offer the local wallet and a pay-later option, and run a localized site? Today that comes from days of clicking through country selectors and footers, written into a slide nobody updates.

The scan also misses the timeline. Knowing a rival ships to Sweden is useful; knowing they added krona and a Swedish storefront last quarter tells you where they are investing. Without a dated record you cannot tell an established market from a fresh push.

Cross-border terms are set market by market. In the EU a trader may not block shoppers by nationality but decides where it delivers, and import VAT rules shape how parcels from outside the EU are priced. A rival's ship-to list, currencies and payment options are real choices worth tracking.

  • The EU Geo-blocking Regulation (EU) 2018/302 has applied since 3 December 2018. It bans unjustified blocking of shoppers by nationality or residence, but does not oblige a trader to deliver to every member state. Source: eur-lex.europa.eu
  • Council Directive (EU) 2017/2455 created the EU's import one-stop-shop VAT scheme for distance sales of goods imported in consignments with an intrinsic value of up to EUR 150. Source: eur-lex.europa.eu

How it works

How it works

  1. 1

Add your store and your rivals

Start the trial and add the competitors you meet in the markets you sell in or are considering. Nothing to install; RivalSweeper reads public pages.

  2. 2

    The footprint is read

For each rival, the shipping countries, payment methods, currencies and languages its storefront shows are recorded, along with yours. First data arrives within 24 hours.

  3. 3

    Changes are dated

When a field changes, the change is kept with the date it was seen. History starts the day each rival is added; nothing is back-filled.

  4. 4

    Plan the market

Compare footprints side by side when you rank markets or build the entry case, alongside the same rivals' prices, promotions and catalog.

What it does

Features

Shipping countries per rival

The countries each competitor says it delivers to, from its public storefront, so you see which of your target markets are already contested.

Payment methods by type

Card networks, wallets and buy now pay later options visible on each site, so you know which local payment expectations rivals already meet.

Currencies and languages

Which currencies each store prices in and which languages it offers, a direct read on how far its localization goes in each market.

Dated change history

Every change to a rival's footprint is kept with its date, so you can separate a long-standing market from a recent push. History begins when tracking begins.

Your footprint alongside

Your own store's countries, payments, currencies and languages in the same view, so gaps and overlaps per market are plain.

Prices in each rival's own currency

When you compare price positioning across markets, each price is tracked against the same product's earlier price in its own currency, never mixed across currencies.

What you get

What the footprint view shows

No published sample exists for this use case yet, so here is the structure instead of numbers. Each field is read from the rival's public storefront and kept with the date it was seen.

Compared with the alternatives

A manual scan by the team or a consultant
Clicking through each rival's country selector, footer and checkout. Thorough on the day, but a snapshot with no history, rarely repeated.
Market-research reports
Good for market size and consumer trends. They rarely cover your specific competitors' storefronts.
Traffic-estimate tools
Estimate where a site's visitors come from. Useful context, but visitors are not deliveries: they do not show where a rival actually ships, prices or takes payment.

Questions

Will you alert me the week a rival enters a new market?

We do not promise that. You get each rival's footprint and a dated history of changes to it, to review when you plan. We would rather say so than sell an alert we cannot stand behind.

Where does the footprint come from?

From what each competitor's public storefront shows: shipping destinations, payment options, currencies and languages. No private data, no connection to their systems or yours.

Can I see a rival's sales by country?

No. RivalSweeper shows where a rival offers to sell and on what terms, not how much it sells there.

How far back does the history go?

To the day each rival is added. Nothing is back-filled, so add the rivals in your shortlist markets now if you want a record before the next planning round.

Is there a sample I can look at?

Not for this use case yet. The structure above lists every field; the fastest way to see real data is to add your own rivals on the free trial.

Does it cover marketplaces?

It covers competitors' own storefronts. It does not track marketplace sellers.

Start the dated record before your next market decision

Add the rivals you meet in your shortlist markets and their footprint is recorded from day one. The button opens RivalSweeper, where the free trial starts without a card.
