Know within a week when someone files a mark like yours
Mark Lookout reads the daily trademark filings published by the USPTO, EUIPO and WIPO, compares them to your marks by spelling, sound and logo similarity, and sends a weekly digest of the ones worth a look. It also checks major marketplaces for listings that use your name. Monitoring, not legal advice, priced per mark instead of per lawyer-hour.
- Sound-alike and look-alike matching, not just exact text: 'Kwik Klean' is caught for 'Quick Clean', filtered by the Nice classes you choose
- Logo similarity on filed image marks, with the candidate image shown beside yours
- White-label PDF reports for firms watching marks on behalf of clients
Traditional watch services such as Corsearch cost about $375 per mark per year.

Source: altlegal.comLaw firms commonly resell trademark watches to clients at about $50 per mark per year.
Source: altlegal.comWatch services charge law-firm prices for data that is published free every day
Every business day the USPTO publishes new applications, and the EUIPO and WIPO do the same. If someone files a name confusingly close to yours, the window to object is short: in the US an opposition is due within 30 days of publication unless extended, and in the EU within three months. Miss it and you are into cancellation proceedings or a coexistence you did not choose.
Traditional watch providers charge hundreds of dollars per mark per year. That is sensible for a multinational's 400 marks and out of reach for a Shopify brand with two, which is also why many small IP firms resell watches at a loss or not at all. The more immediate problem is often in the marketplace: listings on Amazon, eBay or Etsy using your name to sell something else.
Mark Lookout uses the same public bulk data as the expensive services, adds phonetic and image matching, and prices it so a brand can watch two marks and a firm can watch seventy-five.

How it works
- 1
Request service
List the marks you want watched, word marks or logos, with the countries and classes. We set up the account within 2 business days.
- 2
We calibrate the matching
You tell us how wide to cast the net: exact and near-exact only, or phonetic and visual matches too. For each mark you set the Nice classes and the registers (US, EU, international) to watch.
- 3
Weekly digest
Every week you receive the new filings and listings scored as similar, each with applicant, filing date, classes, the mark image if any, a link to the official record and the publication or opposition date where known.
- 4
You decide what to do
Dismiss, flag to watch, or export to a report for your attorney. Mark Lookout tracks flagged filings through publication and registration.
Features
Daily filing ingestion from three registers
New applications from the USPTO daily trademark XML (Open Data Portal), the EUIPO Trademark Search API and the WIPO Global Brand Database are loaded each day and compared against your watched marks.
Phonetic and visual text matching
Candidates are scored for spelling distance, sound-alike spelling, word order, common misspellings and translations of common terms. Scores and the reasons for a match are shown with each hit.
Logo similarity
Filed image marks are compared with your logo using image embeddings; matches above your threshold appear in the digest with both images side by side.
Class and territory filters
Restrict each watch to the Nice classes and registers that matter, or widen it to related classes to catch adjacent filings.
Marketplace listing checks
Scheduled searches of Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Walmart Marketplace for listings using your mark in the title or brand field, with the listing URL, seller name and a screenshot. Frequency is limited to respect each marketplace's terms.
Opposition window tracking
For flagged US filings, the digest shows the publication date and the opposition deadline from the official record; for EU filings, the publication date and the three-month window.
White-label reports and client folders
Firms group marks by client, add their own logo and footer, and export a PDF report per client per month. Clients never see Mark Lookout's name unless you want them to.
A look inside
What you see day to day: the working view and the monthly summary.
Who it's for
Amazon and Shopify brand owners
You have one to five registered marks and a brand that competitors imitate. You get a weekly email about similar filings and marketplace misuse, at $12 per mark per month.
Small IP and trademark law firms
You want to offer watches to every client, but the wholesale price made it a loss leader. Watch 25 or 75 marks at a flat bundle price and resell under your own name.
Brand-registry and Amazon agencies
You run brand protection for sellers. Add filing and marketplace monitoring to your retainer, with per-client reports.
In-house marketing and legal at small companies
You would be blamed for missing a conflicting filing. The digest and opposition dates give you a routine instead of a worry.

Compared with the alternatives
- Corsearch and other traditional watch services
- Comprehensive, analyst-reviewed watches at roughly $375 per mark per year. The right choice for large portfolios that need human review of every hit; out of reach for a brand with two marks.
- Alt Legal
- A docketing platform with a watch feature at $185 per month for up to 200 marks. Well suited to firms that already docket there; Mark Lookout adds logo matching and marketplace checks and starts at a single mark.
- Searching the registers yourself
- USPTO, EUIPO and WIPO searches are free. Doing them weekly for every mark, including sound-alikes and logos, is hours of work that does not get done, and marketplaces are not covered.
- Marketplace brand-protection programs
- Amazon Brand Registry and similar programs help remove infringing listings once you know about them. They do not watch the trademark registers or other marketplaces.

Questions
Is this legal advice? Will you file oppositions?
No on both. Mark Lookout is monitoring software: it surfaces filings and listings that score as similar to your marks, with the official dates. Whether something is actually confusingly similar, and what to do about it, is a judgement for a trademark attorney. Confirm deadlines against the official record before relying on them.
How do you handle false positives?
Every hit shows its score and the reasons it matched, and you set a threshold per mark. Dismissed hits tune the per-mark filter, and we start conservative so the first digests are short. If you would rather see everything, widen the threshold.
Where does the data come from, and how fresh is it?
The USPTO's daily trademark XML through its Open Data Portal, the EUIPO Trademark Search API and the WIPO Global Brand Database, all official sources, loaded daily. A new filing appears in your next weekly digest, or the same day as an instant alert if it scores high enough. Marketplace checks use public search pages and official APIs where offered.
Which marketplaces, and what are the limits?
Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Walmart Marketplace at launch, on a limited schedule that respects each site's terms. We cannot guarantee every listing is found, and coverage may change if a marketplace changes its access rules; we will tell you if it does.
Can my firm resell this to clients?
Yes, that is what the Firm plans are for. Group marks by client, brand the PDF reports and bill as you see fit. We never contact your clients.
What about unregistered uses, domains and social media?
Mark Lookout watches registers and marketplaces. It does not crawl the open web, social media or domain registrations at launch; those are on the list if founding customers ask for them.
What happens if I cancel?
Export your watch history, flagged hits and reports as CSV and PDF at any time. Data is deleted 90 days after cancellation.
