Most promo decisions are made after the rival has already moved
The usual trading meeting: a rival's sale email arrives, someone forwards it, and the team decides on the spot whether to match. A sitewide code is the fastest answer and the most expensive, giving margin away on lines the rival never threatened.
Rivals are more predictable than they look. Brands run sales in cycles, and one that has said 'last chance' often says it again. The pattern sits in their own history, if someone records it daily and counts it.
There is a calendar cost too. If you sell into the EU, a reactive price cut can become the reference price your next promotion is measured from, so reacting in late October can shrink the discount you may show on Black Friday, 27 November 2026.

How it works
- 1
Track the rivals that matter
Add your store and competitors. Prices, promotions, catalog and marketing activity are recorded daily from public pages; first data within 24 hours.
- 2
Patterns are counted
Rules find repeat cycles in each rival's detected moves and count how often each pattern held, across brands and for that brand.
- 3
A read for the week
AI reasoning grounded in those moves writes the indication: what is likely, odds, confidence, why, and a suggested move.
- 4
Graded after the week
The read is graded automatically against what the rival actually did.
Features
Odds and confidence, never certainty
Each read carries a confidence level and plain odds, such as 'about 2 in 3 (0.69)'. An indication to plan with, not a promise.
The basis is shown
You see the cases behind the read, across brands and for this rival. A thin basis is visible as thin.
Grounded in the rival's own history
Built from the competitor's tracked price, catalog and marketing history. History starts the day a rival is added.
A suggested move with a deadline
Each read ends with a concrete option, such as answering on 2 or 3 lines or holding price, and a decide-by date.
Automatic grading
Every read is checked after its week against the moves actually detected, so you judge it on its record.
The tracking underneath
Effective price after discounts, promotions and new products surface within 48 hours on supported websites, on every plan.

Questions
Is this available to everyone today?
It is rolling out as RivalSweeper's newest capability. Book a 15-minute walkthrough to see it on your competitors; the tracking it rests on is on every plan.
How accurate is it?
Each read gives odds, a confidence level and the past cases behind it, and is graded automatically after its week. Judge it by that record.
What does it predict?
Moves that show up in a rival's tracked history, such as another sale email, a price change or promotion activity. Little history means low confidence.
Does it need data from our store or ad accounts?
No. It works from competitors' public pages. Nothing to install, no store or analytics connection.
How far back does the history go?
To the day each rival was added; nothing before. Add rivals well before your peak trading window.
Is the EU 30-day point legal advice?
No. It summarizes the published rule to show why reactive cuts have a calendar cost. Confirm how it applies to you with your own counsel.
