Per-SKU markdown depth across your rivals, with dated history
RivalSweeper records full price, current price and stock status for every tracked product on competitors' own storefronts, daily. You get effective price, markdown depth ranked SKU by SKU, the start date of each cut and a clearance flag, with guards that keep FX noise and bad reads out of the numbers.

Rival markdown data is usually banner copy, not a price series
A competitor's sale page tells you the headline, not the distribution. To set your own markdown depth you need the share of each rival's range on reduction, the median and the tail, how long each cut has run and which reduced lines sold through. Most teams rebuild that from screenshots and a spreadsheet, and lose the history every season.
The data also needs cleaning before it can sit next to your own. 'Compare at' prices that were never charged inflate depth. A rival in AUD and another in ILS cannot be compared on converted prices without FX moving the result. A read failure looks like a 90% cut. And a sold-out line at 60% off is clearance, not a promotion you need to answer.

With Markdown Depth Tracker
- Depth measured against the same product's earlier price, in its own currency
- Verified markdowns only: a real drop from a price held, never a 'compare at' figure
- Cleared = marked down 40% or more and now sold out, kept apart from live promotions
- Effective price per SKU
- Depth ranked across the set
How it works
- 1
Define the set
Add the rivals you benchmark against: 2 on Basic, 15 on Pro, more on Enterprise. Each domain is read from its own public storefront.
- 2
Daily price and stock reads
Full price, current price and stock status per product, every day, each stored with its date, product URL, market and currency.
- 3
Guards run first
A change counts only when source, market and currency match. A jump of more than 5x between reads is not a price move. Only verified markdowns enter the depth figures.
- 4
Read depth, cadence, clearance
Rank SKUs by depth across the set, see when each cut started, separate cleared lines, then export CSV or pull the series into your model via API.
Features
Effective price per SKU
The current selling price after the markdown, stored with full price and stock status from the same read.
Depth ranked across the set
Every discounted SKU ranked by depth across all tracked rivals, with history, so the tail is visible and not just the median.
Median and deepest per brand
Share on reduction, median depth and deepest cut per brand: the shape of each rival's markdown, not the banner.
Markdown cadence
Each cut carries its start date ('since Sep 24'), so you can see how long reductions run and how often a rival steps them.
Clearance vs promotion
Lines cut 40% or more that then sell out are flagged as cleared, so end-of-line sell-through is not read as competitive pricing.
Own-currency comparison
Each price is compared only with the same product's earlier price in its own currency. Depth is a percentage, so ILS, USD and AUD brands sit in one ranking without FX noise.
Deepest verified cuts across the set, Oct 15, 2026
A real, anonymized RivalSweeper read. Four brands priced in ILS, USD and AUD, ranked on one depth scale because each price is compared only with its own earlier price.
| Product | Brand | Was → now | Depth | Status | Since |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Satin maxi dress | Brand A | ₪1,490 → ₪400 | 73.1% | In stock | Sep 24 |
| Mesh one-piece swimsuit | Brand B | $61 → $22 | 63.9% | In stock | Oct 10 |
| Crochet cover-up shorts | Brand B | $43.05 → $15.75 | 63.4% | Cleared | Sep 23 |
| Beach shorts | Brand D | A$260 → A$130 | 50.0% | In stock | Oct 7 |
- Only verified markdowns count: a real drop from a price the product held, never a standing 'compare at' price.
- Cleared = marked down 40% or more and now sold out.
- Each price is compared only with the same product's earlier price, in its own currency.

Who it's for
Pricing analysts
You build the weekly pricing pack. You get a clean, dated SKU-level series of rival effective prices and depth to feed your model, instead of scraping and cleaning it yourself.
Pricing managers
You sign off markdown depth and timing. You see where rivals sit on depth and cadence, and whether a competitor cut is a promotion or a clear-out, before approving your own.
Teams pricing across markets
Rivals in several currencies are compared on depth in their own currency, with market and currency matched before any change counts.

Compared with the alternatives
- Manual price checks in a spreadsheet
- Fine for a few KVIs. It breaks at catalog scale, has no stock status, and keeps no reliable history.

Questions
What exactly is 'effective price' here?
The current selling price on the rival's product page after the markdown, recorded with that product's full price and stock status on the same day.
How do you stop bad reads from showing as price moves?
A change counts only when source, market and currency match the earlier observation. A jump of more than 5x between observations is not treated as a price move. Only drops from a price the product actually held count as markdowns.
How do you compare rivals in different currencies?
Each price is compared only with the same product's earlier price, in its own currency. Depth is a percentage, so brands in ILS, USD and AUD rank together without exchange rates in the calculation.
How is clearance separated from promotion?
A product marked down 40% or more and now sold out is flagged as cleared. Reduced lines still in stock stay in the live markdown view with their start date.
How far back does the price history go?
To the day tracking started for that store. RivalSweeper does not backfill, so add a rival before the season you want to benchmark.
Can I get the series into our own pricing model?
Yes. CSV export on paid plans, the REST API on Pro (10,000 requests a month) and Enterprise (200,000), and MCP for AI assistants.
