For contractors on Jobber and Housecall Pro

Win back the jobs sitting in your unanswered estimates

Estimate Chaser watches your open estimates in Jobber or Housecall Pro and follows up by text and email on a schedule written for your trade, until the customer answers. Mid-job, it captures a signed change order with photos so extra work gets paid for, and syncs it all back to your platform.

  • Follow-ups stop the moment a customer replies, approves or declines, so nobody is chased after saying yes.
  • Change orders carry photos, line items and an on-screen signature, and post back to the job as an approved amount.
  • One dashboard number: dollars from estimates approved after at least one automated follow-up went out.

Why now

Quotes nobody followed up on are the cheapest revenue you are not collecting

Most home-service businesses send an estimate, wait, and move on to the next job. The customer meant to reply, got busy, and the quote sits open for weeks. The owner is on a roof or under a sink, so follow-up happens when someone remembers, which is rarely.

Change orders have the same shape. The homeowner asks for an extra outlet or a second coat while the crew is on site. The crew says yes, does the work, and the extra never reaches the invoice, or it does and the customer disputes it because nothing was signed.

Jobber and Housecall Pro already hold the data to fix both problems: every estimate has a status and a timestamp, every job has a customer with a phone number. What is missing is a process that runs without the owner's attention and reports what it recovered.

How it works

How it works

  1. 1

    Connect your platform

Install Estimate Chaser from the Jobber or Housecall Pro app marketplace and authorize access to estimates, jobs and customers. About five minutes; we never ask for your platform password.

  2. 2

Pick a sequence for your trade

Choose a template for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, painting, landscaping or general remodeling, or write your own. Each is 3–5 touches by text and email over 2–3 weeks, in wording you would actually send.

  3. 3

    Follow-ups run on their own

Every estimate still open past the delay you set enters the sequence. Replies, approvals and declines stop it within a minute; replies land in your inbox and in the platform's customer notes.

  4. 4

    Capture change orders on site

From the job, a tech opens the change-order form on their phone, adds photos and line items, and the customer signs on screen. The approved amount posts back to the job before the crew leaves.

What it does

Features

Trade-tuned sequences

Seven starter sequences written for specific trades, each 3–5 touches over 14–21 days by SMS and email. Edit any step, change the timing, or add a final 'closing the file' message.

Reply detection and stop rules

A customer reply, an approval or decline in your platform, or a manual stop ends the sequence within about a minute. Exclude customers by tag.

Signed change orders with photos

Techs build a change order from the job on their phone: photos, description, line items and tax. The customer signs on the device or through a text link, and a PDF is attached to the job.

Two-way sync

Estimate status, customer contacts and job records come from your platform; approved change orders and follow-up notes go back. Nothing is entered twice.

Dollars-won-back dashboard

The value of estimates approved after at least one automated follow-up, plus signed change-order totals, by week and month. Estimates approved before any follow-up are not counted.

Quiet hours and sending limits

Texts go out only within hours you set in the customer's local time, never on holidays you mark, and never more than one message per customer per day.

Registered business texting

Messages come from a dedicated local number registered under US 10DLC rules, with STOP handling built in.

Built for

Who it's for

Owner-operators in the trades

You quote during the day and invoice at night. Estimate Chaser follows up while you work, and the Monday digest tells you the two or three customers worth a personal call.

Remodelers and painters with crews

Scope changes happen on site. Crew leads capture the change order with photos and a signature so the extra work is agreed before it is done, not argued about after.

Office managers running Jobber or Housecall Pro

You already live in the platform. Follow-ups, replies and change orders appear in the records you check anyway, and the dashboard shows what the process recovered.

Compared with the alternatives

Doing it by hand
A spreadsheet or your platform's pending-estimates view works if someone checks it daily and sends the texts. Most owners do not, which is why open quotes pile up. Free, but it depends on a habit.
Your platform's built-in reminders
Jobber and Housecall Pro may include a basic quote reminder on some plans; check what yours offers. A single generic message is not a trade-specific sequence, signed change orders with photos, or a recovered-dollars figure. If a basic reminder is enough for you, you may not need us.
Instant-quote and sales add-ons
Tools such as Responsibid are priced at $179–229 per month and focus on producing the quote. Estimate Chaser starts at $29 and focuses on what happens after the quote is sent.
Getting started

Your first week

We set up new accounts within 2 business days and stay in touch through the first week.

  1. Day 1: Install from the marketplace, connect your account and pick a trade sequence. We submit your 10DLC registration.
  2. Day 2–3: Your account is live; email follow-ups start on estimates open past your chosen delay. We review your sequence wording with you.
  3. Day 4–5: Texting number typically approved; SMS touches join the sequence. Techs receive their change-order link.
  4. Day 7: You get the first Monday digest, and the dashboard shows the first recovered dollars if any estimates closed.

Security and data

  • Data is stored on servers in the United States, encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
  • We request only the permissions needed: read estimates, jobs and customers; write notes and line items. We never see your platform password.
  • Customer phone numbers and emails are used only to send the follow-ups you configured; we do not sell or share contact data.
  • Message logs and signed PDFs are kept while your account is active and for 90 days after cancellation, then deleted. Email us to delete sooner.
  • Only you, the users you add, and our support staff when you ask for help can access your account.

Questions

Does it work with both Jobber and Housecall Pro?

Yes. Install it from either marketplace and connect one account per subscription. If you run both, tell us during onboarding and we will connect the second at no extra charge.

Will it keep texting a customer who already said no?

No. A reply of any kind, a decline or approval in your platform, or a manual stop ends the sequence within about a minute. Customers can also reply STOP, which blocks all further messages to that number.

What is 10DLC and why does it matter?

US carriers require businesses that text customers to register their brand and use case under the 10DLC program. We register a dedicated local number for you during onboarding; carriers usually approve within a few business days, and email follow-ups run in the meantime.

What if Jobber or Housecall Pro adds this natively?

They might. Our bet is on going deeper than a generic reminder: sequences written per trade, signed change orders with photos, and an honest recovered-dollars number. If a built-in feature does what you need, cancel any time; there is no contract.

Is a change order signed on a phone legally binding?

Electronic signatures are widely accepted for agreements like this in the US, but Estimate Chaser is software, not legal advice. Keep your own contract terms in the change-order template, and confirm with your lawyer when a job involves a lien, a permit or a dispute.

How is 'dollars won back' calculated?

It is the total value of estimates approved after at least one automated follow-up was sent, plus the total of signed change orders. It leaves out estimates approved before any follow-up, so the number understates rather than flatters.

How long does setup take?

Connecting your platform takes about five minutes. We onboard new accounts within 2 business days, including 10DLC registration and a review of your first sequence with you.
