For residential roofers and roofing marketing agencies

Roof measurements and a retail estimate in minutes, for $5–8 a report

Roof Tally pulls roof geometry from Google's Solar API, works out area, pitch, facets and waste, and applies your price per square to produce a branded estimate PDF. It is built for retail quotes and pre-quotes, not insurance claims, at a fraction of the price of premium reports.

  • Reports return in under two minutes where Google has high-quality roof data; no charge when data is missing.
  • Your logo, per-square prices, shingle options and terms on every PDF; agencies run it under their own brand for each roofer.
  • Bulk mode: upload a list of addresses in a storm-hit neighborhood and get a pre-quote for every home, ready for door-knocking or mailers.

Why now

Premium roof reports price out the retail quote

A homeowner asks for a price on a new roof. To quote it well you need area, pitch and complexity, which today means climbing up or paying for a measurement report. Premium reports are accurate and accepted by insurers, but at $13 or more each they make sense for jobs you expect to win, not for the ten pre-quotes you want to leave on doorsteps after a hailstorm.

Roofing marketing agencies feel this harder. They want an instant-estimate widget on every client's site, but the available widgets are priced per roofer per month, so an agency cannot bundle them into a modest retainer or offer them to a roofer who closes two jobs a month.

Aerial roof geometry is now available programmatically, and it is good enough for a retail ballpark: area within a range, dominant pitch, number of facets. Roof Tally packages that into a report a roofer can hand a homeowner, at a price that works for volume.

How it works

How it works

  1. 1

Enter an address or upload a list

Type one address in the dashboard or widget, or upload a CSV of up to 500 addresses for a neighborhood. Agencies do this from a per-client workspace.

  2. 2

    We fetch roof geometry

Roof Tally requests the building's roof segments from Google's Solar API: footprint, each segment's area, pitch and orientation, plus the imagery date and quality grade. Addresses without usable data are flagged and not billed.

  3. 3

    Your pricing is applied

Area plus your waste factor, pitch multipliers, tear-off layers and per-square prices for up to three shingle options produce a low–high range. You set every number once per account or per client.

  4. 4

    Branded PDF and shareable link

The homeowner gets a two-page PDF with a roof diagram, measurements, the options and your terms. You get a link, the raw numbers and a CSV row for your CRM.

What it does

Features

Roof measurements

Total roof area, facet count, dominant and per-segment pitch and orientation, derived from Google's Solar API data for the address. Reported as a range with a stated confidence grade.

Retail estimate engine

Per-square pricing for up to three material options, waste factor by complexity, pitch surcharges, tear-off layers and flat add-ons. Produces a low–high range rather than a false single number.

Branded PDF reports

Your logo, colors, license number, terms and a cover note on a two-page PDF. Agencies set a brand per roofer client.

Bulk pre-quotes

Upload up to 500 addresses per batch. Each gets its own report and a one-line summary in a CSV, ready for a mailer or a door-knocking list.

Instant-estimate widget

A small embed for the roofer's website: the visitor enters an address and contact details, sees the range on screen, and the roofer gets the lead by email and webhook.

White-label for agencies

The Agency plan runs the dashboard and widgets under your domain and brand, with separate client workspaces, per-client pricing tables and usage reports for billing your clients.

API access

A simple REST endpoint: send an address, receive JSON measurements and the estimate. Same per-report price as the dashboard.

Built for

Who it's for

Small residential roofers

You quote retail re-roofs and do not want to pay premium report prices for every lead. A $5–8 report lets you give a ballpark on the first call and climb only for the jobs that move forward.

Roofing marketing agencies

You run sites and ads for several roofers. White-label Roof Tally into their sites and your reports, bill it inside your retainer, and stop paying a per-roofer widget subscription.

Storm-response teams

After hail or wind, you want pre-quotes for every roof in a neighborhood before the competition knocks. Bulk mode produces them from a list of addresses.

Compared with the alternatives

Roofr, EagleView and Hover
Premium measurement reports, at Roofr's published $13–19 per report and higher elsewhere. They are more precise, include edge-type lengths and are accepted for insurance work. Use them for claims and for the job you have won; use Roof Tally for the first ten conversations.
Instant estimator subscriptions
Roofr's instant estimator is $125–149 per month per roofer. Roof Tally's widget is included in the $49 plan, and the Agency plan covers many roofers under one subscription.
Tracing the roof in Google Earth
Free, and many roofers do it. It takes 15–30 minutes per roof, depends on who is drawing, and produces nothing you can hand the homeowner. Roof Tally does the same job in two minutes with a branded PDF.

Getting started

Your first week

We set up each account within 2 business days and run your first reports with you.

  1. Day 1: Sign up, upload your logo, enter per-square prices and terms. Run test reports on homes you have already quoted.
  2. Day 2–3: Account approved for live reports. Install the widget on your site; for agencies, we configure your subdomain and first client workspace.
  3. Day 4–5: Run your first bulk batch for a neighborhood or an ad-campaign list; we review the CSV with you.
  4. Day 7: Check-in: which reports turned into site visits, and any adjustments to your pricing table.

Security and data

  • Reports and homeowner addresses are stored on servers in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Homeowner contact details captured by the widget belong to the roofer or agency; we do not sell, share or use them for anything else.
  • Roof data is fetched per request from Google; we store the resulting report for you and do not resell aggregated roof data.
  • Reports are kept while your account is active and for 90 days after cancellation, then deleted; email us to delete sooner.

Questions

How accurate are the measurements?

They come from aerial imagery processed by Google and are good for a retail ballpark: pitch and facet count are reliable on simple to moderate roofs, and area is reported as a range. Complex roofs, tree cover and older imagery lower accuracy, and the report says so. Always measure on site before ordering materials.

Can I use these reports for insurance claims?

No. Insurance work generally requires Xactimate-grade reports with detailed edge measurements that adjusters accept. Roof Tally is for retail quotes, pre-quotes and lead qualification. For claims, order a premium report.

What happens when Google has no data for an address?

Google's roof data covers most US metro and suburban areas but not every rural address, and imagery quality varies. If the lookup returns no usable roof, we flag it, do not charge, and suggest a manual trace.

Does this comply with Google's terms?

We request data per report and present it in that report; we do not build a cached database of roofs for resale, and reports carry Google attribution where required. If Google's terms change in a way that affects the product, we will tell customers in advance.

Can I set my own prices and materials?

Yes. You enter per-square prices for up to three options, a waste factor, pitch surcharges and tear-off costs. Agencies set these per client. Estimates are shown as a range and labeled preliminary.

How does white-label work for agencies?

Your agency gets a dashboard on your subdomain with your logo. Each roofer client is a workspace with its own brand, pricing and widget key. Homeowners and your clients see your brand, not ours, and you bill them however you like.

Is the estimate a binding quote?

No, and the PDF says so. It is a preliminary range based on aerial measurements and your pricing; your actual proposal follows an on-site inspection. Roof Tally is estimating software, not a contract, and does not replace your own terms.

How fast can we start?

We onboard new accounts within 2 business days, after which pay-as-you-go accounts can run reports immediately. Agency white-label setup, including DNS for your subdomain, usually completes in the same window.
