Source: taxheaven.grThe transition period ends on 31 December, and the guidance is scattered and in Greek
After large businesses went first, mandatory e-invoicing in Greece extended on 1 October 2026 to all remaining businesses, for B2B transactions in Greece and with non-EU countries. The transition period ends on 31 December 2026; after that, an invoice not issued the accepted way is treated as not issued at all.
The options exist: AADE's free apps timologio and myDATAapp, or a certified e-invoicing provider. The hard part is choosing well for your case, filing the myAADE declaration on time and being sure your first real invoice goes through without errors, especially if you don't read Greek tax guidance comfortably.
Τιμολόγια σε Τάξη does this with you in one video call. We are not a provider and take no commission: if the free timologio is enough for you, we say so.

Questions
Does this apply to me as a freelancer with few invoices?
Yes, if you invoice businesses in Greece or in non-EU countries. From 1 October 2026 the obligation covers all remaining businesses, with a transition period to 31 December 2026.
Do I have to pay a provider?
Not necessarily. AADE offers timologio and myDATAapp for free, and they are enough for many small businesses. We only recommend a provider when you really need one.
Do you need my Taxisnet credentials?
No. You log in yourself and we guide you over screen share. We never ask for or store credentials.
What happens after 31 December?
After the transition period, an invoice not issued the accepted way counts as not issued, with fines that for VAT-able transactions reach 50% of the VAT. That's why we test before then.
Are you an e-invoicing provider?
No. We are an independent setup service. Your invoices are issued through AADE's app or the provider you choose, never through us.
How long does it take?
The recommendation arrives within one business day and the setup is one video call of about 45 minutes, usually within 2 business days.
Is this tax advice?
No. It is a technical setup service. For tax questions about your business, your accountant has the final word.
